Paul Day announced as Thames Valley and South West business awards judge

Paul, who lives in Binfield, Berkshire, has worked with Filestream Limited for 27 years, and is an expert in cyber security, document management and GDPR.

Having first joined the business as a van driver, Paul has seen the business develop from selling hardware such as photocopiers to providing document management software to some of the biggest brands and world-famous celebrities. Their customers include Anglia Farmers, University of Hull, Kingsley Health Care, Carnival UK, Scania and BNP Paribas.

“I am thrilled to be one of the judges for these two prestigious awards events,” said Paul. “Supporting ambitious businesses and entrepreneurs in this difficult economic climate is so important.

“As a long-standing and experienced business, Filestream is able to learn from the newer companies that are emerging and, by seeing what others do, we can improve and enhance our own business.”

The Great British Expos believe in recognising businesses, charities and individuals that have made an outstanding contribution in their region. The Thames Valley and South West Business & Community Awards have become the largest award ceremonies in their respective regions, attracting over 1,000 nominations each year.

The independent panel of judges, which is made up of some of the UK’s biggest business leaders, entrepreneurs, charity ambassadors and regional influencers, will present the awards to the winners that have been chosen from a short list of entries from each category comprising Business of the Year, SMEs, new start-ups, entrepreneurs, apprentices, business leaders, networkers, innovators, leisure and tourism as well as special awards for Charity of the Year, Outstanding Contribution to the Community and Lifetime Achievement.

Filestream is also a sponsor for The Great British Expos Thames Valley and South West Business & Community Awards and supports the GB Expos’ chosen charity: Cherishers! that has been created to provide employment opportunities for people in the Midlands who are currently unemployed and have barriers to normal employment opportunities.

Paul explained: “Since the pandemic, the whole working scenario has changed with more entrepreneurs and innovators now in the workplace, advanced technology and the option of working from home.

“Judging and sponsoring The Thames Valley and The South West Business & Community Awards is a great way for Filestream and our team to give back to the business community whilst also supporting Cherishers! – a really worthwhile charity that helps unemployed people looking for employment.”

The winners of The Thames Valley Business & Community Awards will be announced on Wednesday 30th November at The Hilton Reading, Drake Way, Reading. Just over a week later, the winners of the South West Business & Community Awards will be announced on Thursday 8th December at The Double Tree by Hilton, Lydiard Fields, Great Western Way, Swindon.

Both of the glittering awards ceremonies will feature live entertainment, an inspiring keynote speaker, a charity auction and, of course, the presentation of the prestigious awards.
